Collins should be bench at best. We have to persist with Zaza and hope he comes good, no good shuffling through the other rubbish strikers (Calleri, Fletcher) to no effect. Obiang must have earned a start surely?
We'll see what comedy disaster side the pissed up Croatian picks tomorrow. Bound to be ridiculous.

Playing Collins ahead of Oxford is sending everyone all the wrong signal I fear.

I am alone in wanting Kouyate on the bench. Start with Obiang and Noble centre mid and try to be a lot more disciplined with tracking back as a team. Kouyate can come on later if needed when defenders start to get tired. Kouyate is too wasteful with the ball at present and does not track back to help out enough for me.

.................Randolph Byram Collins Reid Ogbonna ............Noble Kouyate Antonio..... Lanzini .....Payet ...................Zaza
Would be tempted to play Obiang in midfield and fletcher up top but think this would be my side for tomorrow.

I'm matching Soton's diamond midfield and controversially pushing our top scorer forward to CF and dropping all the slow starters/useless ones (mostly new signings).
Randolph Nortveidt Ogbonna Reid Arbeloa Obiang Lanzini Payet Fletcher Antonio
I'd consider Oxford at RB as I don't rate Havard much yet. However, Bilic won't pick this team though. I fully expect a frustrating afternoon without Obiang but Zaza up front and seeing the galloping 3rd division clueless Calleri, thye lumpen Tore or Ferghouli brought on if things go against us. I suspect Kouyate will start too and Noble need s some bench time to wake him up.

Randolph
Oxford Reid Ogbonna Arbeslowa
Antonio Kouyate Noble Lanzini Payet
Fletcher
We need to settle down and play with discipline, we got players popping up all over the shop, when we lose the ball we're all over the place defensively. Would start the keeper and back 4 to start regularly injury permitting and get some solidaty there. Oxford in at rb can play similar to Tomkins did and tuck in and allow us out the left with arbeloa lanzini and payet linking. Antonio has been terrific going forward but has to remember his defensive duties as do kouyate and noble. Lets be solid and let payet lanzini and fletcher to weave some magic. Patience and support needed from the crowd, time to back bilic and the lads COYI

I'm surprised so many think Kouyate should be starting but its all about opinions I guess? He has been worse than Noble IMO (takes some doing). Headless chicken with poor passing technique this season.
Obiang is about the best we have for a DM and we need someone disciplined who will keep things simple and passes well. He needs to work harder at closing down but like I say best we got to help shore us up defensively.
Ginge should be rested. Reid has been indifferent but is the better option I think with Oggy.

Really dont think we should turn on the likes of Ginge so quickly. How can we expect or want player loyalty when we turn so quickly.
Ginge was one of our best players last year, is a good honest pro, will be grafting to get back to form and at a time when our team are accused of being lacklustre and lazy, gritty proud players like Ginge are the kind of characters we need to drag the rest along.
If I was a player reading this forum, I'd be saying screw West Ham the fans are a bunch of fickle turncoat assholes.
A few bad games isn't the time to bin the team that performed so well last year. Need to pull together, not divide and fragment.

Agree ref Zaza. Yes, he looks like a pub player so far, but he should be given 1 or 2 more games. For all those punting for Fletcher, he is not the answer.

-------------------Adrian (needs a performance though)
Arbeloa - Collins - Reid - Ogbonna
------------Kouyate - Obiang
-----Antonio - Lanzini - Payet
-------------------Zaza (we need to persevere here - any of our other strikers lack pedigree and are punts, Carroll and Sakho aside)
Bench:
Randolph, Oxford, Nordveidt, Noble, Feghouli, Calleri, Fletcher

Re: Your team Vs Southampton?

i'm assuming Arbeloa will now fill in at left back?? otherwise i'd have Reid & Oggy at centre back.
in front of them i think Obiang has to start with either Noble or Kouyate. I'd go for Kouyate but Nobes will prob get the nod.
the rest picks itself........... Zaza will likely start with Payet, Lanzini and Antonio.

Re: Your team Vs Southampton?

To use the pundits current favourite word... "intensity". We show little in our play nowadays. Slav seemed to get carried away with the idea of us morphing into a cavalier, passing team.
He talked a lot about us being better in possession, retaining it better. And he became myopic and has taken his eye off defending, tracking back, running your nuts off and above all else "discipline". This has been reflected IMO in the selections and formations since late last season. All, I repeat all the greatest and best teams are built from the back and based on being able to defend well.
Those that went in midweek suggested that Obiang was one of the better performers? Kept it simple, sat in the holding role and was disciplined in his play? He has to start. If he doesn't then Bilic will open to a visit to the shrink as the old definition of insanity will come into question (doing the same thing time and time again and expecting a different outcome).
Hence:
Randolph Nordveit---Reid---Oggy---Abeloa Ferghouli---Obiang----Noble---Lanzini ----------------Payet------------------------ ---------------Antonio----------------------
Ferghouli had a stinker in midweek but I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
Bilic will IMO pick: ------------------------Adrian Nordveit----Collins----Oggy-----Arbeloa Antonio---Kouyate---Noble---Lanzini---Payet -----------------Zaza-----------------------------------
Kouyate and Noble aint working. One or both should be rested for a while longer. Antonio can score goals so should play upfront.

Just our luck to be playing them when they seem to be finding some form. What a waste of time Calleri & Zaza are.Playing Colins will mean yet another defeat.
